Overview
The Rocks is one of Sydney’s most treasured cultural icons. The precinct, with traditional custodians being the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, was Sydney’s first settled social village and is today a place where people come together to eat, drink and socialise. The Rocks holds a special place in the nation’s psyche as one of Sydney’s most-loved precincts, famous for its enduring originality. With a clearly defined objective - to deliver an improved customer experience for across all digital channels for The Rocks and more effectively drive footfall and sales to the precinct the NSW Government engaged Adrenalin to deliver a futureproof, engaging and mobile-optimised digital experience.

Stunning aesthetics
Taking visual cues from the historic area, the website design reflects the imperfect historic features e.g. off-set components are reminiscent of the cobblestone roads, sandstone architecture and terraces. Married with contrasting typefaces - muted palettes paired with a bright yellow and mix of sharp and rounded elements - the site delivers a truly unique user experience.

Data-driven design
Adrenalin’s Data & CX-led approach involved extensive quantitative and qualitative research including in-field research and user testing against early-stage prototypes and wireframes with local and international visitors. Analysis included audience segmentation, customer journey mapping and persona creation. Extensive in-depth-interviews were completed to help address journey friction-points and shape better design patterns to increase utility.
